Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) Sets New Uganda Gorilla Trekking permit fees from 1st. July. 2020 and years after.
Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has increased the fees for Uganda gorilla trekking permit from USD: 600 at present to USD: 700 for Foreign Non Resident visitors starting from the month of July 2020. The new rates will have a Foreign non resident visitor paying USD: 700, Foreign resident in East Africa, in other wards foreigners living in Uganda Rwanda, Kenya Tanzania and Burundi with work permit will pay USD: 600. while Local residents will Pay UGX. 250,000. to be able to do gorilla trekking. The price will be per person for visitors of both Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park respectively. This revised tariff was announced yesterday by communication through the Association of Uganda Tour Operators (AUTO).
Foreign Non Resident (FNR) USD: 600 to USD: 700
Foreign Residents (FR) USD: 500 to USD: 600
East African Residents (EAR) UGX: 250,000.
The Uganda gorilla trekking permit increment by just $100, is set to leave Uganda tour destinations as the most favorable and affordable in contrast with its neighboring country Rwanda where the cost of gorilla trekking permit is at $1500 for all visitor category including local people. This was announced as Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) prepares to release a new product tariff for 2020 and year after. Currently the highlight of Uganda tours is based on Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable national park and Mgahinga Gorilla National park. Gorilla trekking permit is issued to adult visitors who are 15 years and above and any single trek is limited to one hour with gorillas per day.
