This Ultimate Uganda Rwanda Safari trip will start in Kampala and it will end in Kigali - Rwanda’s capital. It specifically includes two chances to see the rare and endangered mountain gorillas in both Uganda and Rwanda and it will take you to the most important places of both Uganda and Rwanda such as Jinja, Murchison falls national park, Kidepo valley national park, Kibale forest national park, Queen Elizabeth national park with Ishasha sector famous for its tree climbing lions, Bwindi impenetrable national park, Lake Bunyonyi, Volcanoes national park with Kigali city tour.

Day 1 - On arrival transfer to your hotel

Upon your arrival at Entebbe international Airport, your tour guide will receive you and transfer you to your Hotel for an overnight stay.


Day 2 - Kampala city tour and transfer to Jinja

After your breakfast, the guide will pick you from your place of stay to start on the Ultimate Uganda Rwanda safari with a Kampala capital city tour. You'll have a chance to visit cultural and historical sites such as Kasubi royal Tombs, Namugongo martyrs shrine, National Museum, Gadhafi National mosque, Local markets, fruit market Nakasero, craft villages, with lunch break later you will be driven to Jinja for dinner and overnight stay HAVEN RIVER LODGE/ 2FRIENS GUEST HOUSE/ SURGIOS GUEST HOUSE

Day 3 – Visit the source of Nile, Speke monument and drive to Kampala with a visit to Sezibwa falls & Mabira forest

On this day of your Ultimate Uganda Rwanda safari, have your breakfast then the guide will pick you from your hotel and take you around Jinja town with the visit to the source of the Nile River which is world’s longest River and Speke monument using the local boat later visit local market have lunch and head back to Kampala with en route visit to Mabira forest, Sezibwa falls or do a Whole day white water rafting on the Victoria Nile. And head back to Kampala.


Day 4 – Transfer to kitgum town for a night, along the way visit ziwa rhino sanctuary.

On this day, you will have an early breakfast; thereafter you will be driven to Kitgum town for an overnight with en route visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for the Rhino tracking which takes approximately one hour.

You will have lunch on the way and continue to check in to your Hotel for dinner and overnight stay at BOMAH HOTEL/ FUGLEYS GUEST HOUSE

Day 5 – Drive to Kidepo Valley national Park and game drive in afternoon.

A relatively early start, after breakfast your tour guide will drive you towards north eastern Uganda to Kidepo valley national park, this is one of Uganda’s best Game Park which hosts variety of animal species and the only place in Uganda where one can see cheetah and ostrich. Here you will enjoy viewing the life style of the Karamojongo people who are closely related to the Masai of Kenya and Tanzania (cattle keeping people) as you will pass through their homesteads.

Continue and make it to Apoka tourism zone with en route game drive later you will check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at APOKA LODGE/ UWA BANDAS

Day 6 – Game drive in morning, and another game drive in the afternoon

After an early breakfast, you will be picked from your Lodge and go for an early morning game drive with chances to see big herds of Giraffes, Elephants, buffalos, zebra, waterbucks, wart hogs, prides of Lions which are sometimes seen lying on big rocks, leopards, look out for cheetah and ostrich, kudu lots of birds and many more . Return to the lodge for lunch break then later after lunch head back for another game drive in evening hours for more chances to see animals and sun set.

You will go back to your lodge for your dinner and overnight stay at DAY 5.

Day 7 – Transfer to Murchison Falls NP

After your early breakfast, you will exit the park and drive to Murchison falls national park, which is the largest and most beautiful park of Uganda, bisected by the world’s longest river the Nile. Here you will be open to more animals of the savannah where Elephants, giraffes, buffalos, lions, jackals, hyenas, Uganda kobs, oribi that can be encountered in your game drives with hippopotamus and Nile crocodile that will often be seen using the boat cruise as you follow the upstream side to see the mighty Murchison Falls from the bottom as where the name of this park is derived from. You will make several stop over for pictures, lunch on the way and proceed en route game viewing, once you enter the park, continue to check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at PARAA SAFARI LODGE/ PAKUBA SAFARI LODGE/ FORT MURCHISON

Day 8 – Game drive and boat trip in the afternoon to the bottom of the falls

On this day you will have early morning breakfast and then go for the Game drive where you will see savannah game such as giraffes, Elephants, buffalos, Uganda kobs, Jacksons hart beasts, wart hogs, Oribi, and on lucky occasions lions leopards hyenas as well as jackals plus a lots of bird species thereafter return back to the lodge for lunch break, afterwards go for the boat ride in the afternoon. You will later return to the lodge for overnight stay at DAY 7.

Day 9 – Early morning Game drive and transfer to hoima town for a night.

A relatively early morning start, after your breakfast your guide will pick you and take you to the game drive for more chance to try early raisers like lions leopards, elephants, hyenas, jackals, buffalos, Giraffes, warthogs, hartebeests, Uganda Kob, waterbucks among other animals then later you will transfer to hoima town where the seat of the bunyoro kitara kingdom is found to shorten the journey to Kibale national park the next day, you will check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at HOIMA CULTURAL LODGE/ HOTEL KONTIK

Day 10 – Transfer to kibale forest national park

After your relaxed breakfast, you will start your journey heading to Kibale forest national park for around 6 hours, the home to our closest relative chimpanzee. Here over 13 primate species are recorded including the red Colobus and the chimpanzee, besides these, there are around 350 bird species recorded making it the best place for primates and bird watching in Uganda. You will then proceed passing through different village along the Albertine rift making several stops for photography and later check in to your lodge in preparation for your chimpanzee trek the next day you will stay at KYANINGA LODGE/ CRATER SAFARI LODGE/ CHIMPANZEE GUEST HOUSE

Day 11- Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi nature walk

On this day after your breakfast you will assemble at the ranger station ready for your chimpanzee tracking, you will then be briefed about the do’s and don’ts while with chimpanzee thereafter proceed your trek which will take you 3 to 4 hours. After tracking you will go for lunch break, later go for Bigodi wetland sanctuary for more primate and bird watching walk that will take approximately 3 hours. You will then return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at DAY 10.

Day 12 – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and afternoon game drive

Wake up and take your relaxed breakfast then head to Queen Elizabeth national park via kasese town with the better view of the mountain of the moon called Ruwenzori which is Uganda’s highest mountain, it’s on this day where you will cross the equator as you enter the park. You will proceed and check in to your lodge, then later go for evening game drive in search of savannah game like Elephants, buffalos, lions, water bucks, Uganda kobs, lucky enough leopards hyenas and variety of bird species associated with savannah grassland, thereafter you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at MWEY SAFARI LODGE/ ENGANZI LODGE / BUSH LODGE

Day 13 – Game drive and afternoon Kazinga channel boat cruise

On this day, take a cup of tea or coffee and go out for morning game drive to catch up with early raisers like lions leopards hyenas among others that will take you approximately 3 – 4 hours, later return to the lodge for a full breakfast and lunch break. After lunch you will be driven to the jetty for your afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel a natural water body that connects two rift valley lakes George and Edward found within the this park. This will take a maximum of 2 hours thereafter return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at DAY 12.

Day 14 – Transfer to ishasha, afternoon game drive in search of tree climbing lions.

After morning breakfast, transfer to the southern part of the park called ishasha which is famous for tree climbing lions that are always sighted clinging in between the branches of the fig trees, have your lunch and do game drive in the afternoon in search of them. Here you stand more chance to see as you take more pictures of other animals like topi found only in this part of the park, Elephants, hyenas, Uganda kobs, herds of buffalos, birds, warthogs and possibly leopard and schools of hippopotamus in Ishasha River. Later check in to your lodge for overnight stay at ISHASHA JUNGLE LODGE/SAVANNAH RESORT HOTEL

Day 15 – Morning game drives and transfer to Bwindi National park.

On this day after your breakfast, you will go for another game drive in ishasha for more chances to see tree climbing lions as well as other savannah game and thereafter transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park which is the home to the rare mountain Gorillas and other forest mammals like duiker, chimpanzees, colobus monkeys and many more. Check in to your lodge for relaxation in preparation for the next day’s Gorilla experience. You will check-in to MAHOGANY SPRING/ BUHOMA LODGE/BUHOMA COMMUNITY REST CAMP

Day 16 – Bwindi forest N P; Gorilla tracking in Uganda and nature walk

Wake up early and take your breakfast, then with your packed lunch and drinking water plus your tracking gear report to the ranger station ready for the exiting encounter to these gentle giant the mountain Gorillas, tracking here takes approximately few hours to a full day so a reasonable fitness is needed to hike up and down the mountains where these gorillas feed from. Be ready with enough films to be able to take as many pictures as you can but no flush photography with these animals. You will be briefed by a ranger guide about the dos and don'ts for gorilla tracking before you ascend to the forest for this experience. On return if time allows and you are still strong enough, go for nature walk in the park up to the waterfall.

Return to the lodge later for overnight stay at DAY 15.

Day 17 – Community walk &Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After your relaxed breakfast, go for community walk for cultural entertainments where you can even meet the pygmies, the race of short people who used to be forest dwellers and fruit gatherers before they were evicted from the forest for conservation purposes, on your return, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi for an overnight stay BIRDNEST@LAKE BUNYONYI/ NATURES PRIME/BUNYONYI OVERLAND RESORT

Day 18 – Boat ride to the historical islands & transfer to Rwanda’s volcanoes park

On this day after your breakfast, you will take a boat ride visiting different island including the punishment island learning about their history, and when you return, you will have lunch and thereafter drive to cross over to Rwanda’s volcanoes national park, check in to your hotel for overnight stay at MOUNTAIN GORILLA VIEW LODGE/LE BAMBOO GORILLA LODGE/ MUHABURA HOTEL

Day 19 – Second Gorilla tracking and cultural visit to ibyi wacu

Another amazing day for you, after your breakfast report to the park offices for the briefing about gorilla tracking well dressed in tracking attire and drinking water the tracking here will take few hours to 8 hours, you will be split into small groups of 8 people and the walk up the mountain with a park ranger who will interpret the gorilla behaviors in the wild, later after tracking you will visit cultural village called Iby iwacu for cultural demonstrations and entertainments .then go back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at DAY 18.

Day 20 – Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Kigali city.

Wake up and take your breakfast, then drive to the park office ready for golden monkey tracking, this is a type of monkey that is declared endangered and on found in the Virunga ranges in this specific area. The tracking will take 3-4 hours then you will be brought back. After lunch you transfer to Kigali, time allowing visit Kigali genocide memorial later ccheckin to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at KIGALI MARRIOT HOTEL/FLAME TREE VILLAGE/ FIFE TO FIVE HOTEL

Day 21 - Kigali city tour and departure

After your breakfast, the tour guide will pick you from your hotel and take you to Kigali city tour with the visit to Kigali genocide memorial, Nyamata church, and kaplaki craft village, plus other local market thereafter you will be transferred to the Airport if it’s your scheduled flight or to your place of stay and that will mark the end of your safari.
